FutureLab had the pleasure of working with a Takapuna born-and-bred company over the last couple of months.
Flower Wholesalers Takapuna have been in the business for 30 years this year – and they’ve never moved from their original shop front on Barrys Point Road, Takapuna! We reckoned that was a pretty awesome achievement and we were stocked to help the company update their online presence.
Flower Wholesalers are open to the public, selling flower bouquets online and selling loose flowers in-store on Barry’s Point.
Their original website was built in Joomla!, and it was due for a refresh. The website didn’t match the company’s logo or colours, and didn’t stand out online due to many florists getting online and specialising in flower deliveries.
We created the new website in WordPress, which Flower Wholesalers’ manager Lisa is already finding much easier to use than the old Joomla! system.
The website has had a complete re-design. We picked a colour scheme that would match Lisa’s signature flower delivery van and the store front in Takapuna. The home page immediately shows the best-selling flower bouquets as soon as visitors enter the site. Plus, the site is now mobile-responsive, so it can be browsed easily on desktop, tablet and smartphone.
Customers can now choose between ‘small’, ‘medium’ and ‘large’ bouquets which are priced accordingly. The flower bouquet categories have also been updated, with a new ‘What’s In Season’ page that will be updated regularly, plus a larger Wedding Bouquet display online and more varieties of bouquets added too. There’s even a custom bouquet – choose this online and tell Lisa and the team what you are looking for and your price range. They will make it happen.
